Dr. Scott Spaulding earned his DVM from UW-Madison
in 1991 and joined the Badger Vet staff in 1992. In
addition to primary care, his clinical interests include
preventative medicine, equine nutrition and equine
dentistry. "I enjoy being an ambulatory veterinarian,
getting to know our clients on their farms; the rewards
of helping horse owners provide their horses the very
best care possible; watching our clients enjoy their
horses and have fun with them;"




Steven Servantez, DVM

As the senior partner of Badger Veterinary Hospital,
Dr. Steve Servantez earned his DVM degree from Iowa
State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989.
He joined the Badger Vet staff in 1992 as a small animal
practitioner. Dr. Servantez's veterinary interests include
small animal and exotic animal medicine and soft tissue
surgery. The human-animal bond greatly interests him.
"I really like the interaction animals bring to our lives."
Dr. Servantez "couldn't imagine doing anything else
in my life."




Kevin Kreier, DVM

Badger Veterinary Hospital partner, Dr. Kevin Kreier,
joined the Badger Vet staff in 2002. He received
bachelor's degrees from Illinois State University and the
University ofIllinois, graduating from the University of
Illinois Collegeof Veterinary Medicine in 1990.
"Veterinarians have a much different relationship with
patients than ourcounterparts in human health care,"
Dr. Kreier said. "The challenge is diagnosing our
patient's problems with limited communication from them."





Katie Reed, DVM

Dr. Katie Reed was welcomed onto the staff at Badger
Veterinary Hospital in 2005. She spent her childhood in
Appleton, WI before entering college at UW-Madison in
1997. "The joy I receive from practicing veterinary
medicine has far exceeded my expectations. I am
constantly challenged and rewarded by the interactions
I have with my clients and their pets." Dr. Reed admits, "I
think veterinary medicine is the perfect career for me.
It's the cat's meow!"




Barrett Spurgeon, DVM

Small animal veterinarian Dr. Barrett Spurgeon joined Badger
Veterinary Hospital's staff after receiving her Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2011.
Dr. Spurgeon grew up in Northwest Indiana, completing her
undergraduate degree at Indiana University-Bloomington.
"I am honored clients entrust us to care for their beloved
family members and love helping patients live long, quality
lives," Dr. Spurgeon said. Her clinical interests include
preventative care, opthamology and dermatology. "In
addition to the pleasure of practicing veterinary medicine, I
enjoy long term relationships our profession fosters
with clients and patients."


Clare Ryan, DVM, PhD, DACVIM

Dr. Clare Ryan, a Milwaukee area native, is a 2002
graduate of the University of Wisconsin’s School
of Veterinary Medicine.  She continued her training with
an internship in Large Animal Medicine and
Surgery at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada.
  In 2006, Dr. Ryan completed her residency in Large
Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Florida
in Gainesville.  Dr. Ryan’s tenure in Gainesville, lead
her to complete her PhD in equine immunology
while directing the care of more than 20 broodmares
and their foals.  Dr. Ryan, her husband and children
returned to Wisconsin to be closer to extended family.
  In her free time, Dr. Ryan spends her time with her husband,
two young daughters and their dog. “Veterinary medicine
is the perfect field of work for me, as it combines
my love for learning with my passion for animals.
  I am able to pass this on to my clients and their
pets, enhancing the powerful bond that exists
between humans and animals.”
