Dr. Spaulding Takes on New Role as President of Mixed Animal Veterinary Associates North America (MAVANA)

Dr. Scott Spaulding, CEO of Badger Veterinary Hospital, launched an exciting new venture in the veterinary industry. As a founder and now president of Mixed Animal Veterinary Associates North America (MAVANA), he managed the merger of 21 mixed animal and equine veterinary practices across the country, including Badger Veterinary Hospital.

"MAVANA practices have the highest standards of care when it comes to medicine and surgery, and they are owned by veterinarians who put a high priority on running better managed veterinary practices," says Dr. Spaulding.

What does all of this mean for our Badger Veterinary Hospital clients? Very little will change, according to Dr. Spaulding. Each MAVANA practice will operate independently -- so we’ll always be Badger Veterinary Hospital -- but practices will benefit from cost efficiencies, improved business operations, and a better way of passing from one generation of doctors to the next.

The greatest change that our clients will notice is the absence of Dr. Spaulding in the field. Running the business of Badger Veterinary Hospital and MAVANA as well as serving as president of the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association (WVMA) keeps Dr. Spaulding very busy and often on the road. Our talented and growing Badger Equine Veterinary Services team is prepared for the change.

"We have two amazing equine veterinarians right now in Dr. Toria Waldron and Dr. Allison Kiser," says Dr. Spaulding. "I know that our equine clients and their animals are in capable hands with our Badger Equine team."

MAVANA practices are located in 10 states -- California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Wyoming, and of course Wisconsin -- and employ 105 full-time veterinarians. Learn more about the company at www.MAVANA.biz.
