Small Animal Veterinarian
Dr. Cynthia Sweet, a native of Racine, WI, joined the team at Badger Veterinary Hospital in 2016 upon earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UW-Madison. Prior to entering veterinary school, she studied biology at UW-Madison. Dr. Sweet’s interests include internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, and strengthening the bond between families and their pets.
During her time at UW-Madison, Dr. Sweet worked at UW Veterinary Care’s clinical pathology lab and surgery ward, at the Charmany Instructional Facility (milking cows), and at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center. She has also been a volunteer at the Racine Zoo and Dane County Humane Society.
“Badger is a great fit for me because the practice shares my desire to offer high-quality medicine and compassionate care with a staff that is friendly and caring.”
Dr. Sweet has a chocolate Labrador Retriever, Lambeau, a cat, Maddie, and a bearded dragon, Mushu. In her free time, she like playing and watching sports (especially attending Wisconsin Badgers athletic events), playing board games, hiking, and listening to live music.
Interesting things about Dr. Sweet:
- Cynthia has hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and would love to do it again.
- She LOVES football and is a die hard Packer and Badger fan.
- Cynthia is half Filipino and hopes to visit her family in the Philippines someday.
- She likes cooking and baking (although she says she not very good at it).
